On the occasion of Norbert Bisky’s solo booth at the Artissima fair in Turin, Italy, the artist will release a new edition, CLANDESTINO, on 4 November, 12 PM CET. The edition is made of sections of fine art paper cut out and mounted onto a mirror, all of which sits atop a wooden frame to support the work. Like Bisky’s paintings, CLANDESTINO contains his trademark compositions of swaths of colour and intimate portraiture, animated by a breeze that swirls through each element, uniting them in a powerful swirl of painted energy. What is singular to CLANDESTINO is the inclusion of a polished mirror surface as ground for the collaged fragments. When seen, the edition transforms the reflections of its viewers into a composite image together with Bisky’s painted elements, creating a truly unique impression. CLANDESTINO builds upon the artist’s recent series of smaller, bust-like portraits of individual figures, from which the motif and palette for the edition are drawn.
